Saves
When somebody bookmarks a post to come back to it, which on most platforms is the strongest signal an ordinary viewer can send.
A like costs nothing and takes a moment. A save is a person saying this is worth finding again, and the ranking systems treat it accordingly: saved content is shown to more people, for longer.
What gets saved is almost always useful rather than beautiful. A list, a comparison, a price, a set of steps, something to bring to a decision later. Aspirational content collects likes and practical content collects saves.
If an organic account has to justify itself commercially and you can only watch one number, this is a better candidate than followers.
