Chapter 1
An ordinary Saturday at your optical shop.
The busiest day at the counter. Between fittings and adjustments, the phone keeps ringing. By evening, several prescriptions have gone somewhere else.
-
9:40 AMVoicemail Hi, do you take my vision plan? I need new glasses.
Your optician is fitting a customer. They call back at noon. He already went to a chain store at the mall.
-
11:15 AMWebsite form I have a prescription from another doctor. How much for progressives?
Nobody can quote without frames and lenses picked out. The reply asks him to come in. He orders online.
-
1:00 PMMissed call My glasses just snapped. Can you fix them today?
Both staff members are with customers. She finds another shop open on the map.
-
3:30 PMAt the counter Thanks, I’ll think about it. I saw frames online for less.
He takes his prescription, as he has every right to. With a full shop, there was no time to explain fitting and adjustments.
-
5:00 PMEnd of day 4 prescriptions filled somewhere else today.
Monday starts the same way.
None of them were bad customers. They just found another option first.
Chapter 2
Meanwhile, on the other side of the screen.
Linda is 58, just got her first progressive lens prescription and has a vision plan that covers part of it. She wants to know if you take her plan and how fitting works. This is how she looks for you:
She searches on GoogleFrom the couch, at 10:20 PM. She sees three shops nearby.
She opens your siteShe wants two answers: whether you take her plan and what getting progressives involves. She finds neither.
She goes backThe shop across town answers both questions and lets her book. You never hear about it.

Chapter 3
The same night, with your new site.
Linda runs the same search. This time, everything she needed is on your site.
She finds you for what she needsShe lands on your progressive lenses page, not your home page.
She gets her answersShe sees her plan, who will fit her lenses and how long it takes. She knows what to expect before she walks in.
She books at 10:47 PMFrom the couch, through a secure booking tool. She brings her prescription on Saturday, so nothing medical goes by text or email.

That’s what we do: the customer who searches at night ends up at your counter, not at the chain at the mall.

Marketing for optical shops that keeps prescriptions in your shop
A third to half of prescriptions leave even a healthy independent practice, and buyers compare plans and prices on their phone. We build your new site and work your Google profile so they find you and fill their prescription with you.

Sound familiar?
What optical shop owners tell us.
What we hear from opticians and optometrists, and what a new site changes.
-
“They take the prescription and buy online or at a chain”
What it costs youA healthy capture rate at an independent practice is 50% to 70%, so a third to half of prescriptions still walk out the door (Review of Optometric Business, 2025).
What changes with your new sitePages that explain why fitting matters and what buying from you includes: adjustments, warranty and help adapting. And a clear “we fill any doctor’s prescription” to win the ones written down the street. -
“If I don’t show up on the map, I don’t exist”
What it costs youPeople choose an optical shop on the Google map, by stars and photos, often in Spanish as well as English.
What changes with your new siteA page per location with hours, plans accepted, real photos and reviews, plus a simple way to ask happy customers for reviews with no rewards attached, as the FTC requires. -
“People think we’re expensive and never come in to ask”
What it costs you“A typical optical shop is confusing and not fun,” one trade magazine put it back in 2015 (20/20 Magazine, 2015), and that image still sends buyers online.
What changes with your new site“Starting at” price ranges and dated promotions, so customers arrive knowing there’s an option for them. -
“Glasses take time and customers call every day to check”
What it costs youStatus calls tie up the counter, and online reviews of chains repeat the same line: “It was excuse after excuse.”
What changes with your new siteA “how long it takes” page for each lens type that sets expectations before the sale. Live order tracking is a separate system.

New site or redesign in about a month
A page per lens type, the plans you accept in plain sight and booking one tap away. It stays in your name.

We work your profile and your pages, and show you the bookings, calls and requests the site brought in.
A real case
Todo Service Hogar: a neighborhood business people find in 59 areas
For an in-home repair service in Buenos Aires we built a page for each service in each neighborhood: 8 services across 59 areas. The same base would give each lens type and each location its own page.

Every prescription that walks out to a chain or a website is the highest-margin sale of the day going to someone else.
Marketing for optical shops: questions before you hire us
The ones opticians and optometrists ask most.
How much does it cost?
We set the price after the diagnosis, which is included and takes 2 business days, based on your locations, brands and lens types. The site is billed 50% up front and 50% on delivery, and the monthly plan has a 3-month minimum.
Our customers come from our own exam lane. Do we need this?
Keep them. Even a healthy capture rate lets a third to half of prescriptions leave, and the site also brings in prescriptions written by other doctors.
People can buy glasses online for less. Why would they come to us?
Because fitting and follow-up matter, especially with progressives. The site explains that in plain words and shows what buying from you includes, so price stops being the only comparison.
Will the site follow HIPAA and FTC rules?
If an optometrist works with you, booking and any form that asks for health information or a prescription run on vendors that sign a BAA, never plain email or text. Prescriptions follow the FTC Eyeglass and Contact Lens Rules, and review requests carry no rewards.
How long does it take?
A new site or a redesign of your current one takes about a month, depending on its size. A single shop that needs something simpler can start with our Launch site, ready in 2 to 3 weeks.
Will it work with our practice software?
Yes. The booking button links to the online scheduling in the software you use, like Crystal PM or RevolutionEHR, or to a secure form from a vendor that signs a BAA. A custom system is quoted separately.
Do you also build custom software?
Yes: “your glasses are ready” alerts, contact lens reorder reminders that check the prescription or a catalog with stock per location. That’s a separate conversation and a separate quote, apart from the site.
